Birth Trauma Support Workshop

  • Parents Place (back room)

Are you angry or sad when you think about any aspect of your birth? Were any of these a part of your birth experience... Powerlessness, Confusion, Fear, Isolation, Abandonment, Loss of Control, Guilt? You are not alone. This workshop is facilitated by Voice For Parents founders, Carla and Jenni. Meet with other mothers and fathers who have experienced birth as a traumatic event, share (or don't) your story in a space and validating space, and begin your healing journey.

This workshop is free to attend, however, we welcome offers of a koha if you feel you are able to support the work that we do.

For more information, visit our FAQs page. We ask that you contact Carla if you would like to register your interest as spaces are very limited (we accept a maximum of 5 women/couples).

Drawing on our knowledge and experience in the field of birth trauma support, including the voices of women who answered an extensive survey we conducted last year, we will provide insight into:

  • How midwives can minimise the occurrence of birth trauma
  • What midwives can do to support families who have experienced a traumatic birth
